Stirling provides a comprehensive service for the development of platform control systems, which incorporates the development of submarine simulations to support algorithm design:

  • Full non-linear submerged six degree of freedom boat dynamics
  • Surfaced boat dynamics
  • Sea state and environmental effects
  • Hydraulic supply systems and actuators
  • Trim and compensation systems

Real-time submarine dynamics simulation used for hardware in the loop testing:

Models have been developed into real-time simulations to facilitate hardware in the loop testing.  Where data is not available from the shipbuilder, Stirling is also experienced in specifying and attending system identification trials and subsequently analysing the trials data to derive boat dynamics models.
